Sailed 2 hours at Hove. Only one stop to change to a smaller board after a few runs and once again to check the car ticket.

Rigged the 2007 5m Ezzy with minimum downhaul as instructed by Mr Ezzy. Didnt look that windy so went with the floaty board. Very wrong cos it was full power and line after line of whitewater to hop over. Further out it was obviously bigger than I thought. Turned straight into head high swell, lining up down to the pier. RWW83 is not the companion you want in those circumstances. Switched to smaller board and added 5mm of downhaul plus 3cm of outhaul!! In that time the wind dropped but built again later to max power. This sail just loves it, so stable. The extra oomph meant that you could find power on the wave face where there was a bit of a wind shadow. Took some decent waves as the swell passed over the shallow patches further out giving laid out bottom turns and scary cut backs, plus lots of linked turns as they peeled a bit on the inside. Good swell, some probably head high + and groomed by the Hove stretching effect.
